Piers Jacobs Wildlife Sanctuary
At the Piers Jacobs Wildlife Sanctuary visitors can have a close-contact experience with some of Hong Kong's native wildlife, such as Barking Deer, Fruit Bats and Wild Boar.
The Barking Deer and Wild Boar were rescued as orphans, they can not be released to the wild. We provide care and give them a place to live that largely mimics their natural environment.
Many other Bats, Wild Boar and Barking Deer live wild in the KFBG forest. If you walk quietly and slowly in the forest you may see them. The Wild Boar living in the forest love to eat some or our plants and vegetables, so we have to manage our relationship carefully - in some cases we fence areas off, in other cases we let them eat whatever they can find.
