One of the major goals of Kadoorie Conservation China (KCC), a Department of KFBG, is to throw light on the current distribution and status of the region's animal and plant species, the conservation value of the areas studied, and the urgent threats they face. Since 1998, we have carried out rapid biodiversity assessments with partner institutions of over 60 forest areas in Hainan, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guangdong, and Jiangxi provinces. To date, we have published more than 40 field reports and numerous relevant scientific papers to provide reference to conservationists, academics, Central Government, and nature reserve managers across China. Some of these reports and papers have been important tools in the process of providing legal protection, and funding for conservation efforts.
