This facility houses injured and rehabilitating birds of prey. Birds sometimes become disorientated among the mirrored-glass skyscrapers of Hong Kong, and fly into buildings. Many of the birds of prey brought into our Wild Animal Rescue Centre have had accidents; others were kept illegally as pets and had been abandoned or ill-treated. Some of these birds are building up their strength before they are released to the wild. Others would not survive in the wild and live here in peace.
Behind the scenes at KFBG we have a Wild Animal Rescue Centre with a full-time vet, vet nurse and other specialist staff, an operating theatre, recovery ward and other facilities. Some raptors can need up to two years of care before they are fit enough to be released back to the wild.
