Assistant Conservation Officer (Projects) 

Fauna Conservation Department

Responsibilities   

  • Support the Conservation Officer with all project work, including report compilation and publication of results;
  • Assist with the daily care of animals under the captive breeding project;
  • Assist with the work flow of all project work, including animal checks, processing, release and data management;
  • Provide assistance to the Conservation Officer for the Natural History Collection specimen room in the form of specimen curation and regular inventory maintenance;
  • To conduct regular field work;
  • Assist in development and management and monitoring of environmental enhancement projects at KFBG;
  • Assist with monitoring and record keeping for KFBG nature reserve fauna;
  • Provide support and field input for Pest Management Programme;
  • Assist with post release monitoring surveys of rescued wildlife and report compilation and publication.   

Requirements

  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of KFBGC;
  • A degree in natural sciences/ ecology;
  • At least 3 years of working experience including some knowledge of HK Natural History;
  • Excellent command of English and Cantonese, Mandarin is preferred;
  • Proficient PC knowledge in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel;
  • Passion for nature;
    Physically fit for frequent outdoor environment;
    Valid Type I or II driving license is preferred;
  • Open minded and recognize the validity of all spiritual paths.
