Animal Supervisor (Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Section)
Fauna Conservation Department

Job Summary

  • To assist in the daily management of staff, facilities and rehabilitation cases as part of the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Section;
  • To ensure the smooth running of all operations in compliance with the relevant standard procedures and husbandry guidelines;
  • To provide training to junior teammate and supervision continuously;
  • To assist, support and stand in for the section Supervisor(s) when required. Assist in the allocation of general works when the supervisor is absent and ensure work is carried out appropriately, standards are maintained and animals under the team care are healthy;
  • To participate in and contribute to other conservation and education projects as required.

Requirements

  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of KFBGC;
  • Possession a qualification in biological science or related subjects will be an advantage;
  • At least 3-year relevant experience, with hands-on experience in animal care/ husbandry preferred;
  • Previous supervision experience will be an advantage;
  • Preferably bilingual in both written and spoken Cantonese and English, Mandarin will be an advantage;
  • Computer Literacy (Microsoft, Excel etc.);
  • Must be prepared to work closely with wild animals in outdoor environment and in adverse weather;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Confident in public speaking, self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision;
  • Able to work under pressure and emergency;
  • Willing to undertake rostered work on weekends and holidays;
  • Possession of a valid driving license Class II preferred;
  • Open minded and recognizes the validity of all spiritual paths.
