Programme Manager (School & Public)
Holistic Education Department

Job Summary

To lead the School and Public Programme (SPP) team to manage and deliver the range of experiential learning programmes which target students, teaching professionals and the public youth programmes (U23) as well as KFBG’s Visitor’s Experience Improvement Programmes. The job holder is responsible for the design, management, and delivery of the SPP by cultivating a close connection with existing and prospective supporters to extend the network and realise their support for KEP and the KFBG mission. The SPP Manager shall lead SPP programmes and projects from an intellectual, financial as well as from a managerial point of view. S/He directly reports to the Head of the Education Department and may occasionally report to the Executive Director or the KEP Committee.

Major Responsibilities
  • To design, manage and conduct a range of holistic, experiential education programmes including but not limited to residential retreats, school camps, and day visits to initiate self-transformation and connection to nature, in support of sustainable living, for people of various ages and backgrounds under SPP;
  • Function as the catalyst to integrate Kadoorie Earth Programme (KEP) values and contents into SPP and KFBG’s other education and visitor programmes;
  • To develop a marketing strategy to promote SPP programmes to the public and organizations;
  • To monitor the execution and evaluation of the SPP projects and related activities;
  • To lead and manage projects to enrich visitor’s experience;
  • To establish and maintain a local and international network of relevant experts, collaborators, community groups, schools, and other organizations;
  • To initiate community building of SPP database, alumni, supporters, volunteers, and listeners, especially by social media to sustain the SPP development in HK and the Greater Bay Area;
  • To work with peers to prepare content and storylines for different segments to support SPP & KEP development
  • To lead a small team of staff, build a pool of volunteers to support KFBG’s visitors experience improvement initiatives
  • To support the development for the Holistic Education Forum

Job Requirements

  • Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of KFBG,
  • Solid skills in time management, coordination, communication, effective problem solving, organising, MS Office proficiency, meeting support and project management, attention to detail,
  • Hands-on overseeing projects ongoing issues, troubleshooting, planning and controlling change, setting and material sourcing,
  • Good command of Cantonese and English. Knowledge of Putonghua will be an advantage, although not essential,
  • A master’s degree in a relevant educational field such as counselling, holistic science and experiential education/ learning will be an advantage,
  • At least five years of solid working experience in Experiential Nature Education, Holistic Education, or Transformational Education programmes preferred,
  • At least five years of good and solid track experience at the supervisory level in education project management, promotion, and marketing will be required,
  • Proven skills in facilitation, design, and implementation of workshops or retreats,
  • Experience in mindfulness practice would be an advantage,
  • Self-motivated, dynamic, and a good team player,
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of people in a positive, inspirational way,
  • Passion for nature,
  • Have a good understanding of Chinese culture,
  • Physically fit for mild outdoor group activities,
  • Open-minded and recognising the validity of all spiritual paths,
  • Able to work residentially occasionally, including on weekends and public holidays, 
  • Valid Type I or II driving license is preferred.
