Conservation Officer (Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation Section)

Fauna Conservation Department

The suitable candidate will assist the section head with the daily management of the rescue centre and animal care team. Including management and care of animal rehabilitation cases and facility management duties. Oversee the general operations and compliance with relevant standard operating procedures and husbandry guidelines. Provision of roster duty cover for the rescue programme when required, including some weekends. Participation in and contribution to other conservation and education projects for the department as required. Report compilation and cover for the Section Head. 


  • Commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of KFBGC
  • A degree in Biological Science, Ecology, Zoology or equivalent
  • At least 3 years relevant working experience, including animal husbandry experience
  • Staff supervision and management experience
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese. Mandarin also an advantage
  • Computer Literacy (Excel, Word, Publisher & Powerpoint etc)
  • Competency in written English
  • Physically fit and willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
  • Valid vehicle driving license preferred.
  • Interest in natural history with some local knowledge preferred
  • Open minded and recognizes the validity of all spiritual paths.
