About Us

We are seeking an experienced Partnerships professional to lead our new Fundraising programme.

We have been kindly supported by the Kadoorie Foundation for several decades, and this substantial and generous support will continue. We need to top-up this grant each year with additional funds. We have done very little external fundraising, and now wish to raise additional funding by expanding our donor base to offer the opportunity for more Foundations, HNW individuals, and Government to partner with us in Nature Conservation, Sustainable Living and Nature Education.

  • Design, develop and implement the Partnerships Programme of KFBG, building on substantial existing planning work and consultancy inputs
  • Manage and enhance relationships with current and past foundations, supporters, friends and Government

  • Develop high-quality proposals and manage the process to gain additional funding
  • Produce cases for support, development plans and other fundraising materials and messaging
  • Prepare grant monitoring reports for relevant foundation and HNWI supporters
  • Manage the ongoing relationships with foundation contacts and HNWIs, including events, meeting ongoing needs, recognition, publicity and events
  • Meet fundraising targets to support operational projects
  • Manage and evolve the existing ‘Friends of KFBG’ programme with a dedicated Programme Officer (yet to be hired)
  • Liaise effectively with a range of KFBG’s specialist Programme Heads and Officers, and Communications and Education Officers
  • Reporting to the Executive Director, this is a dynamic and hands-on role.

  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of KFBG
  • Good command of English (knowledge of Cantonese and/or Putonghua will be an advantage, although not essential)
  • A Master-level degree in a relevant field
  • 8 to 10 years solid working experience in fundraising, and managing fundraising, from foundations and HNWI’s
  • Self-motivated, dynamic and able to work independently
  • Willing and able to be hands-on in a small team, linking to various programme staff and partners
  • A history of contact making, relationship development and fulfilling monitoring requirements of funders
  • A highly developed writing style with experience of writing successful professional grant applications and grant report documents
  • Exemplary communication, presentation and project management skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent relationship management skills across diverse people and organizations, with the experience of working with people who are at the highest levels of their organisation
  • Knowledge of running a ‘Friends of….’ programme
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to assess, prioritize and manage a varied workload
  • Experience of monitoring and evaluating funded programmes
  • A network of contacts in relevant sectors
  • Valid Type I or II driving license is preferred
