KFBG 2016 Annual Report

Audit Report of Donations Received by KFBG (Permit No. 2016/073/1)

In 2016, we celebrated our 60th anniversary and a series of activities have been organised to showcase and commemorate many milestone moments throughout the course of its history, reflecting society's and nature's changing needs.

Our committed staff team, our volunteers and our many partners continued to contribute their energy, passion and skills to their work at KFBG.

Our Sustainable Living and Agriculture team continues to create and deliver an innovative range of community and individual development programmes, which provide concepts and practical tools that enable participants to become more resilient and happy, whilst consuming less.

November's Official Opening Ceremony for our Green Hub facility ranks as one of our most exciting moments of recent times. The historic buildings and landscape of the Old Tai Po Police Station were sensitively restored under the Government's Revitalising Historic Buildings through Partnership Scheme. The site serves as a hub for developing the local economy, and sharing sustainable living practices. Programmes include transformative education courses, networking and re-skilling activities, a vegetarian restaurant, a community market and a heritage exhibition.

Our nature conservation programmes are rooted in scientific rigour, yet have love of nature and people at their core. Our work in Nature Reserves in South China went from strength to strength in 2016, with conservation studies and actions, nature-reserve management, warden training and community livelihood programmes being highly regarded by the Mainland authorities. Our wild-animal rescue work in Hong Kong saw a record number of animals being treated.
