Conservation Officer 

Fauna Conervation Department


Daily management of designated rescue centre staff, and facilities, Management and care of animal rehabilitation cases. Leading and supervision of the rescue team to ensure smooth function of operations and compliance with relevant facilities standard operating procedures and husbandry guidelines. Provision of roster cover for the rescues programme when required and including some weekends. Participation in and contribution to other conservation and education projects for the department as required.  Reporting to and cover for the Section Head. 


  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of KFBGC;
  • A degree in Biological Science, Ecology, Zoology etc.;
  • At least 3 years relevant working experience, including animal husbandry;
  • Has solid supervision and staff management experience;
  • Experience in staff training and coaching preferred;
  • A further qualification in animal husbandry or related subjects is an advantage;
  • Interest in natural history and wild animals, preferably with local knowledge;
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese. Mandarin also an advantage;
  • Computer Literacy (Excel, Word, Publisher & Powerpoint etc);
  • Must be physically fit and willing to work outdoor in all weather conditions;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Confident in public speaking, self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision;
  • Valid HK light vehicle driving license preferable.           
  • Willing to work on weekends and holidays;
  • Open minded and recognizes the validity of all spiritual paths.
