Education Officer

Fauna Conservation Department

A post is available for a suitable candidate to provide educational support for the work of the department, including the wildlife rescue programme, public education displays and endangered species conservation project work. The successful candidate will also coordinate the education volunteer and intern programme


  • Organize educational activities and collaborate with other environmental NGOs
  • Develop interpretive content of public exhibit displays
  • Develop animal rescue Facebook stories and Animal Keeper talks
  • Handle media approaches related to the department work
  • Support the Night Safari project working alongside animal experts 
  • Develop the connections with nature theme for animal encounters activities
  • Develop educational resources and animal story signage for rescued wildlife
  • Handle general administrative duties in support of the education programmes. 
  • Provide interpretation service for KFBG visitors and schools
  • Train and manage the education volunteer team
  • Budget preparation for the department’s education programme
  • Manage and develop the animal photo library 


  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of KFBG 
  • Excellent command of English and Cantonese (written, spoken and in presentation). Fluency in Putonghua would be an advantage.
  • Degree holder in education, biology, geography or environmental science.
  • 4+ years of working experience in education and/or community education programmes
  • Computer literate, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Passion for nature
  • Self-motivated, dynamic and a good team player 
  • Physically fit for frequent outdoor work and willing to work on Saturdays/Sundays and public holidays (for education activities)
  • Valid Type I or II driving license an advantage
  • Open minded and recognize the validity of all spiritual paths.
