Introduction of Kadoorie Conservation China's projects

Kadoorie Conservation China (KCC) is a department under KFBG which focused on the conservation work in the Mainland China. KCC was founded in 1998 with the aim of minimizing the loss of biodiversity and promoting sustainability in China. Should you want to learn more about our projects, please download our information pack and follow KFBG facebook or KCC Weibo and Wechat.

Field Report Series
A major goal of our programme is to throw light on the distribution and status of the region's animal and plant species, the conservation value of the areas studied, and the urgent threats they face. Since 1998, we have carried out rapid biodiversity assessments with partner institutions of over 50 forest areas in Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan. To date, we have published more than 40 field reports to guide conservationists, academics and nature reserve managers across China. Read more.

Wildlife Market Survey Report
Though the live wild animal trade in southern China is very active, there have been few long-term studies of the main markets. The team, therefore, conducted a wildlife market survey in Guangzhou and Shenzhen from 2000 to 2003. This study revealed the species being traded, the relative trade volume in the markets, and the implications for conserving the animals left in the wild.

Living Forests

Living Forests is a magazine produced in English and Chinese about biodiversity in South China. With conservation news and articles, it encourages the exchange of ideas and experiences among nature conservationists, and tells the stories of people who have made key contributions to conservation in the region. We ceased publishing the hard copy and online versions, click here to read highlights of the issues.
