KFBG Studentships (1998-2009)

The KFBG Studentships Scheme was initiated in 1998, with the aim of supporting young people dedicated to developing their careers in field biology and biodiversity conservation in South China. Studentships were awarded to successful candidates who were full-time M.Phil. or Ph.D. students conducting research related to conservation, or in some cases to sustainable living or sustainable agriculture. Other than funding to conduct fieldwork, many received extra technical guidance through the Scheme.

In view of the changing financial circumstances and the more broadly available research funding resources in the region, and our desire to be more flexible in support of conservation-related capacity-building, it was decided to suspend this Scheme from 2010 onwards. Other suitable projects may still be supported via our small project grants scheme. For inquiries, please contact kcc@kfbg.org

Supporting Ornithological Research and Birdwatching

Kadoorie Conservation China Department is contributing to China's development in ornithology and birdwatching. To encourage young scientists to conduct basic fieldwork, we have been sponsoring the "China Basic Ornithological Research Prize" during Congress of China Ornithological Society since 2013. China Bird Watch, published since 2001, is China's only nationwide birdwatching magazine. We have been sponsoring the editing and printing of this magazine to provide a platform for information dissemination amongst China's growing number of birdwatchers.
