Technical Officer

Facilities Department

Responsible to plan and supervise the operation, maintenance and improvement works in connection with E & M installations in premises within the farm.
 
Major Duties
  • To supervise in-house technicians to maintain and upgrade all the Farm’s facilities which include electrical, diesel generator, HVAC, plumbing, pumps, fire services, and ELV installations (CCTV, security, telephone, data, etc.);
  • To recommend and obtain user department’s operational requirements and to produce simple design proposals for user departments’ approval;
  • To draft tender documents for getting competitive quotes from contractors;
  • To supervise the contractors’ site works to ensure it is done according to contract specifications and working drawings;
  • To monitor work progress, quality and site safety procedures;
  • To inspect completed works, to supervise defects rectification and arrange take-over and hand-over of facilities / premises.

Requirements

  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of KFBGC;
  • Degree or high diploma in Building Services Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Electrical Engineering;
  • At least 5 years’ supervisory experience in leading a team of technicians for the operations, maintenance and upgrading of electrical and mechanical and fire services   installation and general builder’s work;
  • Candidates with less qualification but possess 7 years’ or more experience will also be considered;
  • Able to prepare drawings and work specifications for tenders, coordinate with contractors and monitor their performance;
  • Holder of Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker;
  • Good communication in both English and Chinese;
  • Hands-on PC skills; 
  • Occasional holiday duty may be necessary;
  • Possesses valid type I or II driving license preferred; 
  • Open minded and recognizes the validity of all spiritual paths.
