(Assistant) Conservation Officer

Kadoorie Conservation China Department



  • Member of the KCC Department which focuses on biodiversity conservation in mainland China, Cambodia and elsewhere.
  • As part of the team, be responsible in conceptualization, implementation and monitoring of biodiversity conservation projects.
  • To conduct fieldwork, write reports/papers, manage databases and provide technical assistance to project partners.
  • Promote biodiversity conservation in environmental outreach.
  • To represent the organization with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.


  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of KFBGC.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree related to conservation biology, ecology, zoology, botany, biology, and/or forest conservation.
  • Experience in field survey, biodiversity conservation project or protected area management is preferred.
  • Familiar with the fauna and flora of the Indo Burma region would be an advantage.
  • Proficient in written and/or spoken Putonghua, English, Cantonese, and computer literacy.
  • Knowledge in photography, GIS and multimedia production would be an advantage.
  • Good team player with strong people skills.
  • Appreciates and enjoys working with a wide range of people.
  • High level of initiative and ability to work under limited supervision and under pressure.
  • Fit and willing to do physical fieldwork in remote mainland China, Cambodia and elsewhere.
  • Multi-tasking ability is essential.
  • Frequent travel to China and elsewhere is required.
  • Open minded and recognize the validity of all spiritual paths.
