Project Officer

Kadoorie Conservation China Department

 

Responsibilities:

  • Member of the KCC Department which focuses on biodiversity conservation and/or sustainability in China, Cambodia and elsewhere.
  • As part of the team, be responsible to design and implement outreach and publicity activities to reduce the impacts of human activities on ecosystems and endangered species.
  • Work closely with KCC project partners and rural communities.
  • To collect and organize information of KCC projects.
  • To represent the organization with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.

Requirements:

  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of KFBGC.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree on biology, public relations, social science, journalism, or other communication-related fields.
  • Prior work/research experience in relevant fields preferred.
  • Proficient in written and/or spoken Putonghua, English, Cantonese, and computer literacy.
  • Familiar with rural economic and community development in China would be an advantage.
  • Experience on event management and/or education work related to biodiversity conservation project would be an advantage.
  • Familiar with producing and managing social media work would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge on photography, graphic design and video-visual editing software would be an advantage.
  • Good team player with strong people skills.
  • Appreciates and enjoys working with a wide range of people.
  • High level of initiative and ability to work under limited supervision and under pressure.
  • Physically fit and willing to travel to countryside and rural communities.
  • Multi-tasking ability is essential.
  • Frequent travel to China and elsewhere is required.
  • Open minded and recognize the validity of all spiritual paths.
