Part-time Assistant Veterinarian

Fauna Conservation Department

Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden, Wild Animal Rescue Centre has provided a rescue service for wildlife for over 25 years and commits to the high standards of animal husbandry and veterinary care. The veterinary role covers native wildlife and seized exotic species, as well as animals in the captive collection at KFBG.

We are looking for a part-time experienced wildlife/exotic veterinarian to support the existing Veterinarian and rescue team in providing exceptional care for rescued species and for the resident collection.

The successful candidate will work Mon-Wed-Fri and will be required to join the roster for weekends


  • Medical and surgical duties – including but not limited to surgeries and medical planning for routine and annual checks for the collection, rescued animals and projects
  • Managing biosecurity
  • Managing preventative procedures
  • Supervising veterinary students
  • Supporting administration duties: budget, protocols, proposals and reports


  • Possession of a valid HKVSB registration
  • At least 4 years’ experience in an appropriate veterinary practice
  • Possession of a driving license
  • Good writing and IT skills
  • Good English language is mandatory and Chinese preferable
  • A commitment to teamwork and able to work under pressure
  • Good communication skills
  • Prepared to share weekends and public holidays with the rescue team
  • Self-motivated, responsible and team oriented
  • Open-minded and a positive thinker
  • Computer Literacy (Excel, Word, Publisher & PowerPoint etc.)
  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of KFBGC
