Conservation Officer (Projects) 

Fauna Conervation Department

Responsibilities

Coordination, development, collaboration, monitoring and reporting related to conservation project work. Project timetables, monitoring fieldwork, report writing and publications will be covered under the coordination role.  Meeting with key stake holders internally and externally will be required. Responsibilities include management of the Fauna specimen collection and assisting the pest management officer under the pest management programme. Supervision of project staff is also required. 

Requirements

  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of KFBGC;
  • A degree in Natural Sciences/ Ecology;
  • At least 5 years of working experience including some knowledge of HK Natural History;
  • Excellent command of English and Cantonese, Mandarin is preferred;
  • Computer literacy in MS Office essential; 
  • Good at report writing and project planning; 
  • Passionate about animal biodiversity and its conservation;
  • Good knowledge of the local and global wildlife threats including illegal wildlife trade; 
  • Physically fit for frequent outdoor environment; 
  • Valid Type I or II driving license is preferred;   
  • Open minded and recognize the validity of all spiritual paths.
