Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden Ushers in New Era of Conservation with Opening of Jockey Club Nature Conservation Centre

KFBG Diary

From deep roots, a new branch grows for the future. :幼苗:

Our journey began in 1956, when Sir Horace and Lord Lawrence Kadoorie established the Kadoorie Agricultural Aid Association (KAAA) to help local farmers. In 1995, our purpose deepened as we became KFBG, with a mission to harmonise our relationship with the environment.

For many decades, our Conservation Building was the heart of this work. Having completed its mission, it now makes way for the next chapter in our legacy.

We are thrilled to unveil the Jockey Club Nature Conservation Centre (JCNCC)—a building not just on the land, but of the land. It is architecture that grows from the landscape, designed in nature, for nature. From bird-safe glass and nature-friendly gabion walls to solar heating and terrace farm-inspired design, every element is a testament to our mission to harmonize our relationship with the environment.A building is only as strong as its foundation, and our foundation has always been our people—united by the shared purpose of planting seeds of change. This is more than a structure; it is the continuation of a legacy.Watch the video to witness the evolution from our humble beginnings to this new branch for the future. Welcome to the JCNCC, welcome to Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden.
