Communications Executive/ Assistant Communications Manager
Communication and Marketing Department

Job Summary

The Communications Executive / Assistant Communications Manager will support the development and execution of KFBG’s internal and external communications strategies to ensure continuity, visibility, and momentum across campaigns and initiatives. The role involves content planning and development, writing and disseminating publicity and publication materials, supporting media and KOL engagement, responding to public and media enquiries, and coordinating promotional events and communication projects.

The incumbent will also play an active role in formulating content strategies and annual content plans to support and promote KFBG’s mission and work.

Major responsibilities

This is an individual contributor role. The incumbent will report to the Head of Communication & Marketing.

Public Relations and Outreach

  • Support the planning and execution of communication programmes, campaigns, and initiatives in line with the department’s strategy.
  • Manage and implement ongoing communication initiatives to maintain public engagement and strengthen KFBG’s public profile.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media partners and relevant external stakeholders.
  • Conduct proactive media outreach to generate positive media coverage for KFBG’s mission, programmes, campaigns, and conservation initiatives.
  • Identify, engage, and manage relevant KOLs, influencers, and content partners to support campaign visibility and public engagement.
  • Support media shooting, interviews, and related coordination work, including liaison with internal teams and external parties.
  • Organise media events, such as media visits, and other publicity activities.
  • Respond to enquiries from the public and media in a timely and professional manner.

Branding

  • Ensure brand consistency across all internal and external communications.
  • Assist in the development and strengthening of KFBG’s brand identity in ways that reflect its vision, mission, values, and programmes.

Advertising and Campaign Support

  • Identify and manage suitable advertising opportunities for KFBG.
  • Support the development and placement of paid promotions to communicate KFBG’s mission and programmes in a strategic and controlled manner.
  • Provide communications support for organisational campaigns, events, and special initiatives.

Publications and Writing

  • Coordinate the compilation, editing, and production of publications, including the Annual Report and other organisational materials, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Produce high-quality Chinese and/or English written materials, including press materials, feature stories, speeches, website content, captions, scripts, promotional copy, and publication content.
  • Apply strong writing and editing skills to translate complex conservation and programme information into compelling public-facing content.

Social Media and Multimedia

  • Work closely with internal teams to communicate KFBG’s mission, programmes, and impact in a consistent and engaging manner across social media and digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors where necessary to develop multimedia content for campaigns and storytelling.
  • Monitor content performance and help refine content approaches to improve reach and engagement.

Other Duties

  • Coordinate with various internal departments to support communication needs across the organisation.
  • Weekend and public holiday duties may be required occasionally to support events, campaigns, media activities, or other organisational needs.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned in accordance with organisational needs.

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Language, Journalism, or a related discipline.
  • Equivalent experience in a similar role for a minimum of three years.
  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt quickly to new environments and established workflows.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Good understanding of, or strong interest in, nature conservation, sustainability, environmental education, or related fields.
  • Experience in media relations, media outreach, and/or KOL/influencer outreach is highly desirable.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An outgoing, collaborative, and proactive team player.
  • Driving license holder is preferred.
