Countryside Eco-festival 2026: “Ripples & Pulses between the Rings” Exhibition & Lower Farm Tree Tour

First the craft made from reclaimed wood, then the Incense Tree and Camphor outdoors.

This 1.5-hour experience weaves together an exhibition and a Lower Hillside Tree Tour, guiding participants from a single piece of reclaimed wood into the living rhythms of the forest. The exhibition features works by apprentices who transform local tree care by-products into craft, alongside a site-specific installation by artist Alvdalen, where wood becomes a medium of time, memory, and imagination.

Three photos: a stack of freshly cut logs in a plantation, a weathered tree stump with bracket fungi among undergrowth, and a group of visitors along a railed forest path looking up as a guide points into the canopy

The Trees Along the Way

The journey then extends outdoors, inviting close encounters with distinctive tree species such as Incense Tree, Chinese Banyan, Water Pine, and Camphor. Participants will explore their ecological roles and deep connections to Hong Kong’s cultural and natural heritage—from conservation stories of threatened species to the everyday uses of trees rooted in village life.

More than a tour

Craft, Ecology and Reflection

More than a guided tour, this is an immersive journey that connects craft with ecology, and observation with reflection. It invites you to slow down, tune into the subtle interdependence of forest life, and discover how local resources can be reimagined through cycles of care, renewal, and possibility.
