Easter 2026 Exclusive: Family Forest Eggscape

This Easter, Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) invites families to disconnect from digital devices and immerse themselves in the natural world through our exclusive Family Forest Eggscape 2026. This programme integrates nature exploration, animal encounters, and organic refreshments, providing an opportunity for children to learn about ecological conservation and biodiversity through discovery.

Five Wonderful Experiences

  1. 🥚 Forest Eggscapet Game: Participants take on the role of "Forest Detectives" to locate eight nature stamps across the estate to restore a "Magic Egg" and receive a final reward.
  2. 🐍 Animal Encounters: Led by experienced animal keepers, guests will meet "Animal Ambassadors," including pythons, raptors, native mammals, and lizards.
  3. 🐒 Ecological Exploration: Visit Leilani, a macaque infant rescued last year, and explore over 50 scenic spots within the garden.
  4. 🍕 Organic Delights: Taste the handmade sourdough pizza and gluten-free waffles at Eat Well Café.
  5. 💮 Seasonal Flora: Walk through the Lower Hillside to observe spring blooms, including the rare native Bulbophyllum bicolor (Two-coloured Bulbophyllum) and Viburnum hanceanum (Hance's Viburnum) with its distinctive white sterile flowers.

Comprehensive Experience: Family Forest Eggscape Discovery Pass

To facilitate a structured nature experience, we have developed the Family Forest Eggscape Pass, limited to 100 sets. Each pass includes the day’s activities, refreshments, and animal encounters. Upon selecting a preferred session, guests can engage in an educational and leisure journey within the grounds.

Measures for Bad Weather

When weather warnings are in Effect:

Most of our activities take place outdoors. For safety reasons, if the following weather warnings are in effect two hours prior to an event or during an event, leading to the closure of our premises, we will cancel the activity for that day:

  • Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above
  • Black Rainstorm Warning Signal
  • Red Rainstorm Warning Signal or Landslide Warning

The Lower Hillside of our premises will remain open under the following warnings and the Family Forest Eggscape activity will proceed as planned, but visitors should avoid going to the Upper Hillside areas:

  • Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal
  • Thunderstorm Warning
  • Strong Wind Signal No. 3
  • Standby Signal No. 1

Participants are advised to closely monitor weather conditions. Any changes will be announced on our Facebook page.

Heavy Rain Contingency Plan:

As activities are primarily held outdoors, participant safety is our top priority. The following measures will be implemented based on different weather conditions:

Scenario 1: Forecast of Heavy Rain on the Activity Day
If the weather forecast indicates a high likelihood of heavy rain on the day of the event, we will cancel the activity one day in advance to ensure safety.

Scenario 2: Forecast of Light Rain on the Activity Day
If the forecast predicts only light rain, the activity at Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) will proceed as planned. Participants are advised to bring their own raincoats to prepare for any weather changes.

Scenario 3: Unexpected Rain on the Activity Day (Not Forecasted)
If unforecasted rain occurs, the activity at KFBG will continue. However, participants are encouraged to assess the safety risks themselves before making a final decision to proceed.

Participants should consider their own health condition when deciding whether to join the activity. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us ensure a safe experience for everyone.
