Before urban development, wildlife thrived here within stable ecosystems. As cities expand, animals - though adaptive and resilient - face increasing human-induced threats such as bird-window-collision, glue traps, and habitat disturbance.
Since 1994, the Wild Animal Rescue Centre of KFBG has rescued and rehabilitated local wildlife, receiving over 76,000 animals as of 2026. Building on this, the programme helps students understand human - wildlife relationships in urban settings, recognise our impacts, and develop empathy and responsibility - encouraging more harmonious coexistence while sustaining biodiversity and ecosystem functions.
