We are thrilled to announce our next nature programme for 2-3-year-olds is coming soon! Following a transformative pilot round in April, we're opening new sessions for your family to discover the wonders of nature together this winter.
The feedback from our first families was incredible, and it confirmed what we believe: nature is the most powerful classroom for a growing child.
Hear from a Parent
“We are so grateful for the programme! It not only sparked my child’s interest in nature – now she says hello to ants and bugs, examines leaves she finds on the ground, and loves playing with water – it also showed us how nature provides endless materials for kids to unleash their creativity and imagination.
Over the eight sessions, we watched her grow tremendously. She went from a hesitant child who wanted to run away in the first few classes to becoming more independent and bold. We believe this is because the programme encourages free exploration, and the teachers were so nurturing, which built her confidence. We also learned so much about her unique traits and preferences.
Beyond the benefits for our children, it taught us parents how settings outside a traditional classroom, like nature, allow for more holistic development, especially in cultivating curiosity. As we discussed with the teachers, Our children might not remember every detail when she grows up, but the things she learned and the appreciation for nature she developed will benefit her for a lifetime.”
What Will Your Little Explorer Do?
This programme is designed to provide essential physical and emotional development opportunities for young children through nature play. It encourages them to actively explore the environment, develop both large and small motor skills, enhance creativity, build emotional resilience, build confidence and establish a deep connection with the natural world, fostering appreciation and respect for nature, laying a crucial foundation for all future learning. They will experience:
- Thematic Adventures: Dive into each theme with engaging stories, lively songs, creative art crafts, food/drinks making, and fun parent-child games.
- Sensory Nature Walk: Embark on exploratory walks through the lower and upper farm areas of KFBG. We’ll follow animal tracks, listen to winter birds, and touch amazing textures, using all five senses to connect with the environment.
- Meet the KFBG Experts! This is a unique highlight! Your child will have unforgettable encounters with KFBG’s plant specialists, animal caretakers, and farmers. They might meet our resident creatures and even help with simple, fun community jobs around KFBG.
- Outdoor Sensory Stations: Get hands-on with engaging play stations filled with natural materials. It’s all about squishing, pouring, building, and creating – the best way to learn!
- Parent-Child Together Time: We cap each session with cosy songs and sharing, strengthening your bond and reflecting on the day’s discoveries. This is where memories are made
A Journey for Parents, Too.
You are your child’s first and best teacher. We highly value your role and encourage you to be an active supporter and fellow explorer. Get your hands dirty and experience the wonder through your child’s eyes. It’s a chance to learn, play and grow together, creating priceless memories.
