Part-Time Nature Art Teacher (1-Year Contract)

Position: Part-Time Nature Art Teacher
Contract Duration: 1 Year
Programme Period: Sunday, 09:30 - 16:00

Working Hours:  4 hours (either am / pm session)
Session Duration: 45 minutes to 1 hour per session, 2 sessions in total
Location: Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG), Hong Kong

Pay: HK$700 - HK$800 per 4 hours (depending on experience)

About KFBG
KFBG is dedicated to supporting Hong Kong’s migrant domestic workers through the “Connection to Nature for Migrant Domestic Workers in Hong Kong” project. This initiative acknowledges the invaluable contributions of domestic workers to the city and aims to enhance their well-being by providing opportunities to enjoy nature and engage in enriching activities.

Role Overview
As a Part-Time Nature Art Teacher, you will lead creative art sessions that encourage participants to express themselves through various forms of art, such as Zentangle, pastel art, and mindful drawing. Your sessions will be a vital part of our programme, helping participants relax and connect with nature while fostering a sense of community.

Major Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging and accessible nature art sessions, allowing participants to explore different art forms.
  • Propose and implement various art techniques, ensuring a supportive environment for creativity.
  • Coordinate with KFBG staff to ensure a seamless experience for participants, including but not limited to timing, logistics, greeting participants and venue set-up.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement tailored to different skill levels and artistic backgrounds.
  • Foster community among participants, promoting interaction and friendship-building.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in teaching art, particularly in a nature-based context, with a certified qualification preferred.
  • Proficient in English; ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Passion for nature and the arts, with a strong understanding of the needs of migrant domestic workers.
  • Previous experience working with diverse groups is a plus.
