Senior Content Management Officer

Job Summary:

The Senior Content Management Officer supports the Holistic Education Department in communicating a diverse range of nature-based programmes that nurture ecological worldview, wellbeing, and community resilience for audiences including schools, adults, families, and seniors.  The role leads the strategic development and management of content to effectively translate holistic education programme experiences into engaging narratives, supporting outreach, audience development, and alignment with the organisation’s mission.

 

Job Purpose:

To lead the strategic development, management, and delivery of high-quality content across digital and offline platforms, ensuring coherent storytelling that supports the organisation’s mission, programmes, and audience engagement. The role is responsible for developing and managing compelling content that captures the essence of the Holistic Education programmes, translating complex educational concepts into accessible narratives, and strengthening audience engagement across platforms. The postholder works closely with internal programme teams and external collaborators to ensure that content authentically reflects the organisation’s mission, programme values, and transformative learning experiences, while supporting outreach, community building, and long-term audience development.

 

Major Responsibilities:

Content Strategy, Development & Storytelling

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute an integrated content strategy and master editorial calendar across online and offline platforms, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Content Creation: Create, edit, and manage high-quality copy, including feature articles, social media posts, eDMs, reports, public publications, and site interpretive materials.
  • Narrative Translation: Translate holistic education concepts into highly engaging, accessible narratives tailored for schools, families, adults, and seniors.
  • Branding: Ensure absolute consistency in messaging, brand tone and organisational guidelines across all collateral.

Content Distribution & Community Engagement

  • Channel Management: Optimize digital and offline publishing workflows to ensure timely and cohesive delivery.
  • Audience Growth: Plan and execute targeted campaigns to build, retain, and expand digital and public audiences.
  • CRM Integration: Support team leaders in implementing CRM initiatives to elevate audience retention and sustain programme participation.

 

Collaboration, Project & Team Leadership

  • Internal Alignment: Partner with internal educators, scientific officers, and marketing teams to co-develop content highlighting educational impact.
  • External Coordination: Manage relationships with external creative partners, including designers, media channels, local NGOs, and vendors.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Direct special content-driven projects and provide mentorship to junior staff and content contributors.
  • Multimedia Support: Assist in coordinating basic multimedia projects, including photography, video production, and visual assets.

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Performance Metrics: Track, analyze, and report on content performance and user engagement metrics to continuously refine communication strategies.
  • Undertake duties assigned by the Head of Department as appropriate in support of departmental and organisational priorities

 

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Digital Marketing, Communications, Business or related disciplines.
  • Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of professional experience in content development, editorial, or communication roles. (Candidates with 3–5 years of experience may be considered for a junior position).
  • Prior experience in environmental, ecological, or mission-driven organisations is highly advantageous.

Skills & Competencies

  • Language Proficiency: Exceptional written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin), with strong editing and storytelling abilities.
  • Project Management: Strong ability to manage multiple complex project timelines and coordinate cross-functional teams under pressure.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office, with solid working knowledge of CMS, CRM, and analytics tools (Google Analytics). Basic skills in photography or video production are an asset.

  • Proactive, collaborative, highly organized, and physically fit for mild outdoor group activities.
  • Willingness to work residentially on occasion, including weekends or public holidays (with
  • compensatory leave).
  • Possession of a Hong Kong Driving License (Class 1 & 2) is a distinct advantage.
