Winter Camp Programme Report 2016

Activity Report

The 3-Day Winter Camp for Children - ‘In Touch with Nature’ - created a beautiful end to 2016, with 46 campers aged 7-9 year old plus our counsellors and staff enjoying a wonderful three days under the Winter sun.  Some of the highlights were the ‘Animal Treasure Hunt,’ where campers used a treasure map and hunted for our rescued animals in the lower area with close encounters; learning about various habitats and designing a dream home for native animals on the biggest canvas at ‘Nature Chalk Workshop’; hiking to a hilltop following the magical paths of Indigo flowers; becoming low-carbon master chefs by preparing their own lunch from field to table at the Green Hub.

The three days flew by with joy, laughter, friendship...and many ‘aha’ moments! On the last day of camp, we invited campers to make a wish for themselves and for Nature. When revealing their secret wishes afterwards it was heart-warming to read what was written:

“I hope I can have so much fun in the next camp and I can go with my friends.”
“I hope all flowers in the world grow beautiful.”
“I wish all the people will be green.”
“I wish more animals can have a beautiful place.”
“I wish I can grow a taller tree.”

May all their wishes come true.
