Jianhuan received his bachelor’s degree in Ecology from Sun Yat-sen University, where he began his research career in herpetology. His research interests include taxonomy, ecology and conservation of amphibians, reptiles and mammals in the Indo-Burma Biodiversity Hotspot. He is an experienced field researcher and has been conducting biodiversity surveys in China and Cambodia for over a decade, which explains his role as a member of IUCN SSC Snake Specialist Group and a regular assessor for the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Additionally, he has served as a Species Expert for the Endangered Species Scientific Commission of China, and as a member of The Endangered Species Advisory Committee of AFCD since 2022. To date, he has published over 70 scientific papers and described over 30 amphibians and reptiles new to science. Jianhuan also serves as a volunteer reviewer for several scientific journals, including Zoological Research, Asian Herpetological Research, PeerJ, Journal of Natural History, Zookeys, Zootaxa, etc.
